is a leading, publicly traded industrial real estate investment and management company operating a $13 Billion industrial real estate portfolio.The Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for providing technical review and deploying risk assessment techniques to evaluate environmental due diligence reports. This role will oversee remediation and mitigation activities and participate in the ongoing review and modification of associated policies, procedures, underwriting standards, and practices. The ideal candidate will stay current on regulatory initiatives and emerging environmental risks and work effectively with environmental consultants, attorneys, insurers, and interdepartmental teams.About The RoleEnvironmental Monitoring, Mitigation and Remediation:Oversight and accountability for Rexford’s environmental monitoring, mitigation, and remediation program, including annual planning and budgeting.Develop and manage remediation and mitigation strategies, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental standards.Provide regular updates and reports to senior management, detailing project status and financial forecasts.Technical Review and Evaluation:Review and evaluate tenant chemical inventories.Review and evaluate Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) reports, environmental reports, and environmental compliance records prepared by outside consultants.Provide technical recommendations to Rexford’s operations, development, and investments groups to help them understand the environmental, technical, regulatory, and policy aspects of their properties, projects, and transactions, including but not limited to strategies to address on site oil wells, USTs, and requirements for sub-slab depressurization and methane barriers.Develop scopes of services, competitively bid, engage, and supervise consultants.Underwrite qualifications of, select, and manage relationships with all approved environmental consulting firms in Southern California. Monitor consultant performance and troubleshoot quality programs as necessary.Training and Development:Participate in the development and delivery of environmental training programs for internal team members.Ensure the team is up-to-date with current environmental regulations and best practices.Regulatory Compliance and Risk Assessment:Conduct evaluations and assessments of emerging environmental risks and opportunities in connection with Rexford's corporate sustainability initiatives.Stay current on regulatory initiatives and emerging environmental risks to advise on policy and procedural updates.About YouEducation:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental assessment, investigation, mitigation, and remediation, with an emphasis on subsurface investigation and indoor air quality assessments of environmentally impacted sites and risk-based approaches to achieving regulatory closure.Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of all major environmental regulatory programs in California, including experience working with regulatory authorities on remediation and mitigation of environmentally impacted sites.Skills and Competencies:Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent technical report review and risk assessment capabilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with various stakeholders including environmental consultants, attorneys, insurers, and internal teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in using environmental management software and tools.Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives.
