YesDuties and Responsibilities
The postdoc will work with Dr. Chen to investigate the cytoprotective response pathways in oligodendrocytes
in vitro , in a variety of genetic mouse models as well as in mouse models of demyelination. The candidate will be involved in several different aspects of the project, including collecting and analyzing data, writing manuscripts, giving presentations, and mentoring students. Experimental techniques will include behavioral assessment of mouse models, brain and spinal cord dissection, immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting, EM processing, confocal, TEM imaging, and other biochemical and molecular approaches. In addition to lab work, the postdoc will teach one or two courses in the Department of Biology.Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
PhD required in related field.Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neurobiology or a related field. A background in working with mice is required.Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
