Overview
Responsible for assisting the Survey Party Chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations.
Job DutiesComplete tasks utilizing survey instruments and equipment per the direction of the Survey Party ChiefMaintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipmentDig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using a hand toolsLift, carry, and manually transport construction materials, tools, and suppliesClean tools, equipment, materials, and the work areaMix and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand toolsJoin, wrap, and seal sections of pipePerform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipePerform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in the fusing of pipeParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsProvide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillOther unlisted duties will be assignedRequirements
At least one years' experience as a Survey Helper in heavy highway and bridge projectsPrevious experience with survey instrumentsHigh School Diploma or GED is preferred but not requiredAbility to communicate in English via verbal and written communicationsMove throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 poundsHeavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projectsManual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
