conducts virtual and onsite inspections of high value homes and small businesses for personal and commercial lines insurance companies to analyze replacement cost value and to assess risk.The candidate should be capable of demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and expertise to all stakeholders in the survey process (Agents, Policyholders, Business Assistants, etc.).Field Insurance Inspectors must complete the requisite number of surveys each month to achieve personal revenue production goals, and complete other special projects as assigned by their manager.High Value SurveysConduct property surveys on high value homes, documenting the construction materials, workmanship and special features of structureDetermine square footage of the home through detailed measurements or by replicating available building plansGenerate an estimate replacement cost based on industry calculators, EXL resources and your personal findings at the homeObserve and assess physical and liability hazards to the property, including natural hazards such as wildfire and hurricane exposure. Document all such hazards for underwriting, including recommendations for risk improvement.Complete a detailed survey report write-up, including narrative assessmentsConduct underwriting surveys and loss control assessments on commercial businessesObserve and evaluate risk for various commercial insurance lines of business including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation and Auto/Fleet.Engage business owner to discuss and ascertain corporate safety culture, loss history, risk management controls and maturity of company safety programsDocument all hazards observed for underwriting, and make recommendations for risk improvement.Complete a detailed survey report write-up, including narrative assessmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities NeededHigh-degree of professionalism and emotional intelligenceStrong analytical skills and resourcefulnessSolid aptitude for risk assessment and replacement costExcellent written and oral communicationsProficiency with computer equipment and softwareAbility to manage multiple projects at once, and handle time sensitive urgenciesWillingness to travelHigh Value Survey or Commercial Survey experience appreciatedEEO/Minorities/Females/Vets/Disabilities
