Job Description - Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (32/hrs/wk) Psychiatry Behavioral Med (240002FE)DescriptionThe Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who practices within their scope of practice as appropriate in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with their organizational Medical Staff Bylaws. The provider is responsible for the management of care to patients including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care. Provides leadership and consultation with their respective clinical area through participation in division/department initiatives and mentorship of others.All advanced nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children's National supports the development of APRN relationships within the community; specifically those relationships associated with the health and well-being of the community at large.QualificationsMinimum EducationMaster’s or Doctoral degree as Advanced Practice Nurse from an accredited University and eligibility for medical staff credentialing (Required)Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum of 0 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Required)Required Skills/KnowledgeStrong knowledge of clinical specialty and services.Demonstrates clinical leadership skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Required Licenses and CertificationsAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state(s) of clinical practice (Required) AndCDS and DEA in state(s) of clinical practice. BLS certified.
