Position OverviewSupports the development of infrastructure capital improvement projects at each of the nine (9) colleges and two (2) satellite locations within the Los Angeles Community.The projects are district-wide and will be planned by the infrastructure team and executed by the project team, primarily focusing on infrastructure components such as Hydronic Lines, Domestic Water/Fire Water/Irrigation/Sewer, Storm Drain, Natural Gas, Electrical Distribution, Electrical Service, Telecommunications, Site Lighting, Campus Roads, and Surface Area Parking Lots.Position DescriptionAssist and coordinate the development of the utility master plan and verify in the field the accuracy of installation for new and existing projects.Plan, organize, coordinate, and report the performance of construction projects to the infrastructure team.Identify risks and assist in creating risk mitigation plans.Assist in creating and presenting project and data clearly to multiple stakeholder groups.Provide technical and engineering support to the Program Management Office including Project Managers and Construction Managers.Coordinates with surveying, testing and inspection staff.Documents progress of construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects, logging photographs, daily project reports and notes as required.Assists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures and guidelines.Assists in coordinating and recording minutes of meetings with project stakeholders.Assists in review of submittal procedures and monthly invoices.This position will require job site visits to various locations.Minimum Required Qualifications3-5 years of recent professional work experience in the management of the construction of infrastructure projects.Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant public codes.BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management, Urban Planning or related degree. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications:Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design process.Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
