JOB OVERVIEWJob Description Summary:The Department of Prevention and Community Health in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University is recruiting a Research Program Manager, GooDMomS2 to play a key role on research related to health equity. This position will work closely with Dr. Wanda K. Nicholson, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A. and exists primarily to set up and run the research efforts associated with the GooDMomS2 (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus2) Pilot Study.

The GooDMomS2 study is an adaptive study design focused on women who are 6 weeks to 1-yr postpartum from a pregnancy complicated by gestational diabetes. Participants will enroll and participate in a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)-based lifestyle intervention vs. an enhanced lifestyle intervention vs. metformin therapy.

The principal responsibilities of this position include:Preparing applications for regulatory approvalAssisting with the creation of the REDCap or Qualtrics databaseRecruitment of participants, conduct of baseline and follow-up visitsAssisting with preparing data for analysis and manuscript preparationThe person in this position will undergo electronic health records training to assist with identifying potential participants

Project Management:Lead the regulatory approval process as directed by the PIDevelop research protocol under the direction of the PITrain work study student on study proceduresSet up Qualtrics or REDCap databaseConnect with GW clinics and contacts at Children’s National for recruitment

Data Collection & Database Management:Gather participant sociodemographic dataCreate data entry forms and data codebookMaintain REDCap or Qualtrics database

Study Coordination:Work with the PI to organize recruitment, create study timelines and assist with writing study protocols as directed by the PIThe person in this position will be actively involved in participant recruitment and study enrollment, screen eligible participantsTrack study performance metrics

Data Entry:Participate in data entry, and data quality control and produce data reports for the PI and investigative team

Data Analysis:Assist with data analysis under direction of the PIParticipate in manuscript preparation including creating figures, tables, and reference lists for publication

Administrative Duties:Track and generate report for study participants paymentsSupervise undergraduate and graduate students working on project

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
