Compensation will vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location. - is a 60-day program with a Professional Parent model designed to provide a comprehensive integrated service model designed to meet the needs of children/adolescents who are at risk of out-of-home placement, abuse, and neglect. Services will be tailored to provide support to children and their families who are represented in the Child Welfare System. We serve the highest acuity youths in the county and have a 30-minute response time for our youths, and can provide 24/7 crisis stabilization support, if needed/approved by DFCS.JOB SUMMARY:Scheduled Hours per Day: Monday-Friday - 8am to 5pm, with a flexible 8 hour daysWorking hours will vary based on program and family needs and will encompass various hours and days from Monday to Friday, as part of a flexible 40-hour work week. Typical hours may range anywhere between 8 am to 8 pm or beyond.Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Provides support to youth receiving services to ensure that the youth’s voice is heard throughout all phases of treatment. Uses personal life experience to establish credibility and infuse hope for a better future, demonstrates unconditional acceptance, and models life skills. The Youth Partner participates in program and community meetings to maximize youth voice and involvement throughout the service delivery process.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESProvides support to youth and families in achieving their treatment goals.Strategically utilizes personal life experience to demonstrate that recovery and resilience is possible for youth served by the program.Engages youth and families in ways that demonstrate understanding of the youth and family perspective and creates a positive connection and support through the service delivery experience.Connects with youth to encourage and support their engagement in their own treatment planning, and participation in school and/or community activities.Models and coaches positive, constructive attitudes and behaviors in managing different situations in school, work, and living situations.Mentors, coaches and teaches independent living and self-advocacy skills.Supports youth connection and engagement with community resources and natural supports.Assists in the organization and facilitation of youth activities.Facilitates groups for youth including the Youth Advisory Board.Provides a youth perspective in agency meetings, committees and project implementation workgroups to increase a team’s awareness and understanding of a youth’s perspective.Attends county and community meetings as requested.Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent.Minimum 18 years of age.Able to articulate the perspective of a youth who has experienced complex needs and has received services from the mental health, child welfare or juvenile probation systems.
