General Manager - Future Bars

The General Manager is ultimately responsible for all bar operations. You should be able to work independently, effectively communicate managerial objectives, effectively complete detail-oriented administrative tasks, and manage a team in a fair manner. Success in this position requires speedy completion of administrative duties and strong attention to detail. The General Manager will report directly to the Operations Director.

Responsibilities

Manage the team: hire, train, promote and, when necessary, disciplineMaintain inventory controlsCreate cocktail menus under the direction of the Beverage DirectorDetermine employees’ schedules and manage labor costsBartend 2-3 shifts a weekEnsure bar is well-stocked and cleanTrack customer behavior and salesMaintain budget and monitor beverage costsOversee planning for special eventsLiaise with the events teamAppropriately delegate tasks to staffPurchase liquor and other suppliesProvide input on décor and marketing, including social media and other forms of publicityQualifications

2 years of Managerial experience in a bar, restaurant or equivalent2 years of bartending experience (working with craft cocktails is an advantage)Critical thinking skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and good organizational skillsCustomer service focusKnowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industriesCalm under pressureComfortable with hospitality and sales technology platformsFamiliarity with Craftable, Yelp Restaurant Manager, and Square for Restaurants is nice but not requiredDegree in business, management, hospitality, or equivalent is a plusBenefits
