location. As a key member of the R&D Materials Engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting new product development as well as improving Align's existing products. The ideal candidate will have a background in polymer chemistry, preferably in 3D printing resin development.In this role, you will…Assist in conducting polymer synthesis and characterizationsDesign new reactions and perform them according to literature procedure/recipeMix, formulate, and characterize new components and understand structure-property relationshipsSupport activities related to new product development, process improvements, or further product/equipment evaluationWork under the supervision of senior team members as well as independently in the laboratory to develop and evaluate new products or to adapt and improve existing ones.Direct lab bench work for product development and physical property testing duties.Demonstrate ability to work safely in a team environmentSupport product development teams working toward the development of new products.Prioritize and meet deadlines and construct project timetables.Prepare written reports summarizing key findings.Identify and implement effective courses of action.Experience with physical-chemical processes and methods of materials characterization.Familiarity with chemistry and polymer characterization methods (mechanical testing, thermal analysis, rheology, spectroscopy, and the underlying theory)Ability to work on several projects simultaneously as well as participate in cross-functional teams.Ability to work on projects that vary from routine to very complex.In this role, you’ll need …A Bachelor's or Master's in polymer chemistry or related field with 0-2 years of experienceUnderstanding to work with chemicals by using proper protective equipmentExcellent communicationPlus for the role would be...Dental or medical device experience is highly desirable.Sound like a good fit?Great! Placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable commission plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
