The Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will be responsible for the Company’s financial reporting requirements, including SEC filings, maintaining the Company’s accounting policies and addressing technical accounting issues arising from business transactions or the implementation of new accounting pronouncements. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls over various aspects of the financial reporting process. This person reports to the VP Corporate Controller.Responsibilities Include:Lead the SEC Financial Reporting process, including:Creating, maintaining, and communicating SEC calendar in line with the close and other dependent activities and executing to timelinesPreparing and publishing 10Q and 10K filings, including review of XBRL taggingLeading the discussion at Disclosure Committee to ensure financial disclosure is fair, complete, and accurateManaging tie-outs and internal and external review of all documentsEnsuring controls are in place around the accuracy and completeness of the disclosures made (SOX404)Preparing Audit Committee materialsLead the Technical Accounting function, including:Completing GAAP checklists and ensuring financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP guidelinesPreparing quarterly earnings release tables and assist in the review of texts and scripts for earnings releasesAssisting in the preparation of the proxyPerforming technical accounting research, managing external resources as needed, and prepare technical memorandums that document issues and conclusions in a clear, logical, and comprehensive mannerReviewing material contracts to determine accounting treatmentLead the Accounting and Financial Reporting for Equity and other complex areas, including:Preparing journal entries to account for share-based payment awardsPreparing the Statement of Stockholders EquityCalculating Earnings per SharePreparing all required SEC disclosures related to share-based payment awardsPreparing other required accounting analyses, such as long-lived asset impairment, goodwill and intangible impairment, etc.Establish and manage processes to ensure that senior management performs their financial disclosure related obligation on a timely basisDevelop accounting positions and transition plans for all newly implemented accounting guidance or changes in guidance or methodologies. Document the positions and conclusions in a clear, logical, and comprehensive mannerRecommend, implement, maintain, and communicate accounting policies, practices, and procedures to improve and ensure financial control and integrity of the Company’s financial statements and accounting practicesManage outside agencies, such as the SEC or NASDAQ, as needed, and provide timely responses to notices, letters, or requestsMaintain relationships and work closely with external auditorsManage and complete special projects as necessaryAbout The Pay:Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 AnnuallyAnnual Bonus ProgramEquity401(k) Profit SharingMedical, Dental, Vision & More!Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.About You:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a publicly traded company or accounting firm handling publicly traded clientsCPA required, active preferredSEC public reporting experience requiredBig 4 experience preferredWorkiva experience strongly preferredRetail/consumer goods experience a plusOutstanding knowledge and application of US GAAP, PCAOB, SEC and SOX404 regulations and guidelinesStrong written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences, including external audit firm, external law firm, regulators, and key internal decision-makersStrong analytical skills coupled with good decision-making skillsExcellent working knowledge of financial statements and a good understanding of tools to benchmark disclosure practicesGood knowledge of systems and processesEnergetic, hands-on, resourceful self-starter who can partner with all levels and functions of the company and takes a consultative and collaborative approachA team player who can manage cross-functional involvement for the purpose of getting to a common goal
