Capital, Resolution and MRP&A
team within the Corporate Finance
department. The
Senior
Analyst will be responsible for
developing
and maintaining
quantitative
projection
methodologies and processes for Northern Trust’s
balance sheet, off
-balance
sheet,
and profit & loss
items. The
Senior
Analyst will support the execution of projections developed
for
various macroeconomic
environments.Major Duties:Support the
development
, execution
and maintenance
of projection methodologies and financial
projections around key balance sheet
, off balance sheet
and profit and loss items (
for example,
non-
interest income, non
-interest expense,
loans,
and deposits).Work closely with business unit finance,
treasury,
and
risk teams to understand the various
projection line items, their
drivers,
and their behavior under various macroeconomic scenarios.Present and review projection results with senior management.Collaborate
with partners
in Audit
, Controllers
and Capital Adequacy
to demonstrate
appropriate
controls
and checks
around the
projection process
and
results
.Develop, m
aintain,
and enhance
financial analysis of large and complex datasets using analytical
and visualization
tools
such as Python, R and PowerBI
.
Support ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives impacting the
finance organization.Knowledge/ Skills:Analytical,
problem
-solving
skills and intellectual curiosity required to manage the projection process.Existing knowledge and continued willingness to learn
and apply
analytical
and visualization
tools of
Python
, R and PowerBI
.Strong personal computer skills (Excel,
Word,
and PowerPoint) are required to perform analyses and
communicate
insights
to various constituents.Knowledge of financial analysis/ corporate finance/
statistics
usually acquired through a 4-
year degree program or related work experience is
desired.Effective communication skills are necessary to present relevant information to senior management,
finance,
and risk representatives.Knowledge or experience in SAS is desirable but not required.Experience R
equired
:5+ years of related experience with emphasis
on
corporate
finance,
anal
ysis
and
forecasting
