Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Director of Diplomatic is responsible for the account development of foreign government business and royal family travel typically facilitated through their embassies in Washington, DC or through luxury travel agencies. This market will assist in maximizing room revenue, occupancy and average rate along with ancillary F&B revenues.Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for the Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown to all foreign embassies, consulates, governments, and royalty at all revenue points including transient rooms, group rooms, and banquets.Exceed assigned revenue targets in assigned markets.Research, identify, target and solidify relationships with new and existing Embassy, foreign government, and VVIP travel agent accounts.Conduct weekly sales calls to Embassy contacts to uncover new business.Travel internationally, when required, to present the Hotel to foreign nation-based accounts and/or to attend trade shows and sales missions.Submit monthly sales highlights, industry intelligence and account production to the Director of Sales.Prepare strategic plans as part of the Hotel’s on-going Marketing Plans to achieve a high level of Diplomatic segment penetration to increase RevPAR growth for the Hotel.Coordinate with the Hotel’s operational departments the details and needs of Diplomatic groups and VIP guests. This may include coordination with external security services. Serve as the Diplomatic accounts’ Event Manager in collecting rooming lists, payments, arrival/departure details, guest preferences, dining arrangements, concierge services, along with being present for group/VIP arrivals and departures.Keep all information regarding Diplomatic guests at the highest levels of confidentiality.Ability to maintain flexible hours including nights and weekends and be accessible to accounts that are working outside of the Eastern time zone.Special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Sales.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.Thorough knowledge and understanding of International Government Markets with three (3) years of experience in the above market segments.Professional Sales and presentation skills.Proficiency in organizational planning, implementation and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.Leadership and administrative ability.Professional attitude and appearance.Self-motivated, creative, confident and highly energetic personality.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.Proficiency in the Opera property management system preferred.Your team and working environment:
