Job Summary:

The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients. The nocturnal hospitalist observes his or her patient’s status, progress and test results up to several times, as needed.

Responsibilities:

Respond to ER calls and admit patients in the assigned hospital(s) from 7pm to 7am (number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night).

Stay in house for the duration of the shift and be responsible for all calls regarding admissions to Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Not be the primary on Kelsey-Seybold patients admitted to the intensive care units at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Efficiently manage patients in the hospital and interact with specialists to coordinate care.

Transition follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.

Participate in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.

Qualifications:

Active Texas medical license, Internal Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible.
