HybridThe OpportunityThe Legal Counsel Consumer EMEA will act as a legal advisor to the respective teams of the Consumer Product Business Unit (in charge of deals including tires for passenger vehicles) in EMEA:Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe a trusted and dedicated legal advisor for the Consumer PBU teams (OE, Replacement Sales, Marketing, Moto/Motorsport) on a wide range of legal, compliance and governance matters, including distribution, advertising, marketing, civil, commercial, sales and related agreements, support of claims and litigation handling, training and development as well as compliance best practices.Provide practical strategies, training and counsel for risk avoidance to the business units in assigned areas and participate in selected functional projects.Act as Legal Counsel for the Consumer business within EMEA: ensure policies and applicable laws and regulations are communicated to the organization to secure sustainable business. Support selected litigation and investigations in EMEA in assigned business areas. Provide training to teams in the assigned business areas on an as-needed basis. Ensure alignment with outside counsels to secure the interests of the organization in line with budget. Drafting and reviewing any agreements/documentation in assigned business areas and projects, including standard agreements and legal matters e.g., distribution/sales agreements, marketing campaigns and others.Support ensuring compliance with Corporate policies such as Business Conduct Manual, Anti-Bribery, etc. in assigned business areas. Supports the handling of non-compliance issues in close alignment with the Legal Directors & Senior Legal Counsels in assigned areas. Provide training and coaching on legal policies and guidelines, legislative aspects in general, new regulations and related overall responsibilities for the company, business, and functions.Be an active member of the EMEA legal function, and support certain functional activities (e.g., practice groups, expertise centers) as well as promote collaboration.To Join Our Team You Will NeedDegree in Civil Law from a University in EMEA. Admitted to practice law in the US and/or an EMEA jurisdiction.Foreign post-graduate degree. LLM is considered as an asset.7 years post qualification experience as attorney (including experience in a law firm) and legal counsel in a business environment. Experience and knowledge of company, commercial, litigation, regulatory, financial, data privacy and labor law.Substantive experience within a business/commercial environment. Have experience / be member of a business management steering / executive team.An understanding / interest of the tire or automotive industry (not essential) - International exposure - Matrix organization - Dual reporting.Ability to instill confidence.Ability to build effective relationships.Ability to deal with people at all levels.Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Sound commercial and business judgement.Ability to take decision and face challenges in cooperation with executive management.Ability to communicate in clear and concise manner, both verbally and in written format.Fluency in English.
