Reporting to the General Manager, the Distribution Superintendent (exempt) is a management position in CWD’s Distribution Department.The ideal candidate is a collaborative and hands-on Superintendent with experience in water systems and strong project management, interpersonal, and customer service skills. They will have demonstrated experience in managing projects, consultants, contractors, and people, as well as exercise good judgment, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and have the ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply codes, regulations, and ordinances relating to District activities in Sacramento County. They will also have the ability to plan, organize, and manage a Distribution work crew to coordinate and direct operations. Expert knowledge in maintenance and construction functions of Districts distribution facilities that is required to ensure that the highest quality water service and customer service is delivered.SALARY:The annual salary range is $119,609.57 – $145,385.97REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate’s Degree or 60 Units from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, biological sciences, math, or a related field.Eight (8) full-time years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of potable water treatment and distribution facilities.Three (3) full-time years of increasingly responsible experience in a supervisory position of a distribution system.Possess and maintain a California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Distribution Operator Grade D4 Certification.Possess and maintain Forklift Operator certification within two (2) months from date of hire.Possess and maintain an American Water Works Association (AWWA) Cross-Connection Control Specialist Certification within twelve (12) months from date of hire.Possess and maintain SWRCB Water Treatment Operator Grade T2 Certification within twenty-four (24) months from date of hire.Possess and maintain a State of California Class C Driver’s License.Possess and maintain a State of California Class A Driver’s License within twelve (12) months from date of hire.Proof of good driving record as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents for at least two years duration.BENEFITS:The benefits are paid for by the District for employees and their eligible dependents.CalPERS Medical: Plans are 100% covered up to the 2022 Blue Shield Trio rate with a 6% increase per year for employees and their eligible dependents.Dental, Vision, EAP, Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance: Fully-paid for employees and their eligible dependents.Retiree Health Benefits: The District participates in CalPERS retiree health program and contributes to retiree health for employees who retire from the District with at least 5 years of service and a minimum of 10 years credited service in CalPERS. The District’s contribution toward post-retirement coverage for employees and their eligible dependents is based on the employees’ total credited years of qualifying service.Annual Leave Accrual: Vacation: 12 days/year up to 5th year with increases based on service time. Sick Leave: 12 days/year.
