We're looking for a Senior ML Scientist to lead Snowflake's corporate machine learning function. In this role, you will apply AI & ML to a variety of domain specific problems across Snowflake's business data. This is a generalist role and will provide an opportunity to work on a wide breadth of problems, applying a good mix of models & methods to structured & unstructured data, driving large-scale projects from idea to completion.

AS A SENIOR ML SCIENTIST AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:

Work closely with stakeholders to understand the use-cases and identify areas where one can apply ML algorithms for the highest potential impact.Research, design, and apply advanced ML algorithms using large-scale datasets. Leverage techniques such as reinforcement learning, deep learning, tree-based methods, bayesian techniques, kernel/non-parametric methods, gradient boosting and generative models.Own MLOps; deploy machine learning models into production systems, ensuring scalability and seamless integration.Mentor & guide junior ML & data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

High levels of curiosity and eager enthusiasm for open-ended problems.Experience and interest in problem formulation based on relatively abstract information.7+ years experience applying machine learning or statistical modeling on large-scale datasets and in pre-processing and analyses of data.Firm understanding of the basic classes of ML algorithms and their underlying assumptions including statistics and linear algebra.Ability to break complex problems down into sizable pieces and work towards them.Technical expertise in one or more of the following topics: Anomaly Detection, Clustering, Time-Series Analysis & Forecasting, Natural Language Processing, Uncertainty Quantification.Domain knowledge and experience in the application of ML to one of the following areas: Sales, Sales Engineering, Security, etc.5+ years experience writing production-quality, scalable code using Python and knowledge of the software development lifecycle and best practices.Expert level knowledge working with libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, etc., SQL and Airflow.Demonstrate keen senses of ownership, collaboration and mentorship.Ability to articulate results and complex concepts to leadership.Required to adapt quickly to changing project scope while delivering value.Demonstrate leadership, with the ability to inspire the team & lead a project to completion.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:The estimated base salary range for this role is $148,000 - $218,500.Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
