IT Systems Analyst - Laboratory Information Systems (Clinical Systems IS&T)

Responsible for daily production support for the UCH Laboratory systems and implementation and support of designated Lab instrument interfaces and software applications in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Works with users to define system functionality, information flow, reports and data requirements. Develops specifications and documents operational procedures, tests software, and coordinates software release procedures.

Support of the Altera (Allscripts/Horizon) Laboratory Information System (LIS), Epic lab integration, Beckman Automation System and other Lab applications (PowerPath and Wellsky Transfusion/HCLL) and instrumentation.Completion of lab test build, testing and user acceptance coordination with Lab Operations.Develop and document operational procedures, test software, and coordinate software release procedures.Significant interaction with Lab Operations to research and complete test build and expert rules.Report writing and scheduling for Allscripts Lab reports utilizing ALAB, Crystal and Business Objects.Facilitates effective system design and definition.Works with users and teams to resolve issues.Define and design system tables, parameters and setup that optimize application functionality.Project leadership and support for various projects.

``` - Minimum Required: Required: Bachelor's degree in IS&T or related field *. Two or more years experience with computer applications (programming or analysis) required. * 4 years equivalent experience can substitute for a Bachelor's degree. - Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician (MT or MLT) is highly recommended and preferred. Medical Lab experience is required. - LIS system analyst experience of 2 plus years is required. - Previous Altera Lab (Allscripts/Horizon) and Epic application experience is preferred. - Epic Orders or Beaker certification is a plus. - Ideal candidate would have experience in an automated Lab environment. - Crystal Report experience is desired. - Project Management concept knowledge is required. - Excellent communication skills - oral and written. - Strong system orientation and organizational skills.

System Development and Support:

Facilitates effective system design and definition for existing and new system functionality.

Demonstrates detailed knowledge of the application data and database.

Acts as a resource/subject matter expert for the THA Departments.

Facilitates complex system upgrades.

Assists in the evaluation of system hardware and software products.

The document system request is made using the Service Request and Analysis Checklist formats.

Develops and tests complex testing scenarios.

Develops accurate complex Functional Specifications.

Develops accurate complex Technical Specifications.

Follows change management procedures developed by The Health Alliance.

Audits application processes or personnel to ensure the highest quality outcomes.

Provides Production support on specified applications.

Maintains an ability to develop ad-hoc reports independently.
