The ideal applicant is a hands-on person who enjoys working with machinery and electronics. Additionally, a good work ethic and strong interpersonal skills are required since the position involves daily contact with IPG customers.Duties/Responsibilities:Set up & operation of robotic & CNC laser welding / cutting /drilling equipment for customer application testingPerform inspection of samples, including optical microscopy and metallographic cross sectioning, polishing for weld inspectionDocumentation of test results in electronic reportsResponsible for maintenance of lab equipmentSupport of engineering development activities, sales support and customer applications development and supportDemonstrate laser system specifications for customer and trade shows

Assist with other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:BS Engineering degree1+ years of experience in a similar roleCAD/CAM, CNC or robotic system programmingProficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proven ability to support multiple projects and results-orientedHighly motivated and hands-on, with consistent ability to follow-through on projectsExcellent English language communications skills - written and verbalAbility to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization and external customersStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent communication and interpersonal skills

Customer-focusedAbility to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:Background in electronics, machine or manufacturing technologyPrevious industrial laser applications experience
