Network Engineer II, Operational Technology (OT)

This is an exempt level position.

The organization would consider placing this position in any large ADM manufacturing facility. Potential locations include: Erlanger KY (near Cincinnati), Decatur IL, Quincy IL, Des Moines IA, Cedar Rapids IA, Clinton IA, Marshall MN, Columbus NE. Other large ADM manufacturing locations are open for consideration.

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Operational Technology (OT) team, you will be responsible for advancing the capabilities and performance of network infrastructure within the ADM OT/Process Automation (PA) environment.

You will work closely with OT engineers and PA engineers, and partner with key business segments, Global Technology (GT, which is ADM's IT dept.), and your global OT peers to provide enhanced plant support and high-quality project delivery.

Job Responsibilities:Create innovative network engineering solutions and designs within defined standards and architectures, ensuring that designs work holistically within larger solutionsSpecify, configure, implement, and maintain plant process level networking hardwareCreate build instructions and Low Level diagrams (rack elevation drawing, full connection path to each endpoint on the network, IP Address, switch specific configuration information, fiber pair for process, and port/cable numbers or labels for each device) for network engineering designs and support operations teams during implementationImplement and manage effective network securityUtilize monitoring tools, packet capture and other analytic utilities to assess potential issues and maintain network healthDesign, enhance and manage MDF and IDF closets including cabling, racking and power systems in partnership with GTPerform capacity planning and lifecycle management to ensure all hardware, firmware, and software provides seamless service to plantsManage and implement firewall rules and changes as neededProactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activitiesIncorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirementsWork closely with GT and PA leads as an escalation point, providing OT network engineering support to operations teams, assisting with incident resolutionLiaise with third party vendors when appropriate to create engineering solutions to review and implement those solutions as well as continuous improvement proposalsCarry out continuous personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improvedProvide boots on the ground support for ADM plants -emergency and break fix, planned installations, limited personal computer/end user support, etc.Some travel and on-call work are expected as part of this positionRequired Skills:

Ability to manage the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologiesUnderstanding of switch programming and commandsExperience in network architecture design and development, both physical and virtualUnderstanding of OT network communication protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, and PROFINET)Highly motivated, self-starterComfortable working with cross-functional global teamsStrong documentation and organizational skillsMust have the ability to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; willingness to learn new skills and take direction from other team members; and ability to organize information and manage time efficientlyExperience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating requirementsExperience of working as a technology generalist with a high-level understanding of end-to-end solutions including infrastructure, applications, databases, networking, and securityRequired Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical disciplineExperience supporting enterprise-level technology operations and services, including experience managing the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologiesAbility to travel or work on-call as neededPreferred Qualifications:

Experience in a manufacturing environmentBachelors degree (or higher) in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, etc.Network-specific experienceTechnical experience with Process Automation systems, including Rockwell, Emerson DeltaV or Valmet (Novatech) D/3, would be considered an asset for the positionExcited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
