Chief Estimator
supporting our Federal Business Unit in

Gilbane is seeking a Chief Estimator I that has overall responsibility for administration and execution of all estimating activities for a Business Unit. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.Responsibilities:Establish Customer Satisfaction goals for EstimatingLeads in developing accurate pricing for design-phase or GMP estimatesMaintains appropriate industry contacts to insure best and final information on market pricing and trendsIdentify and resolve problems under conditions of incomplete information and uncertaintySchedules department estimating and deliverables and balances workload accordinglyManages the department to assure multiple duties and responsibilities are executed by all staff membersCommunicates with operations staff in planning work schedulesIdentify and communicate risks and outcomes affecting the Business UnitAssumes overall lead for business unit strategic planning processTrains and develops staffManages BD processResponsible for keeping BUL informed of activities, progress and problems as it pertains to Estimating activities
Qualifications:EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor in Engineering15-20 years relevant experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceFederal government project experience is requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESAble to estimate all types of building projects, including residential high rise, healthcare, interiors and institutionalKnowledge of suitable electrical contractors and suppliers for all types of projectsFamiliar with both union and merit shop electrical contractors preferredKnowledge of typical electrical pricing for project types above; for both union and merit shop projects preferredAble to take concept and schematic drawings and develop a meaningful estimate with detailFamiliar with the use of On-Screen Take-off software program preferredSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.For California this ranges from $167,400.00-$230,100.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
