Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist (Sr. Buyer) will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures & maintain inventory levels for RM & Packaging SKU's.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities:
Sourcing of goods, materials, components, or services that are aligned with the supply chain strategies in place. Conducts inventory count at scheduled intervals. Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels. Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history. Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts. Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions. Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records. Establish contractual commitments to ensure longer-term cost savings to meet departamental goals. Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate with vendors and customers. Attend and support internal meetings. Support logistics (warehouse, planning) as needed. Perform other duties as assigned/required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills. Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally. Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to professionally represent Viscofan by developing productive working relationships with suppliers. Experienced in presentation abilities, including PowerPoint development. Knowledge of Project Management tools. Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is required. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field highly preferred. +4 years of purchasing or relevant experience. Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs. May require travel.
