The Digital Sales Manager's primary responsibility is to work directly with Urban One, owned and operated radio stations sales teams to increase and maximize the advertising revenue across R One Digital's online network of websites (this includes all Radio websites owned by Radio One in the region, iOne Digital websites including Cassius, Bossip, HelloBeautiful, etc...), as well as the extended portfolio of digital targeting products and services. This individual will coordinate the sales and service of all advertising schedules for their assigned website properties. Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Sales, this position will be responsible for regularly reporting advertising sales revenue, sales and inventory forecasting and CPM analysis in relation to plan. Ideal candidates will have a thorough understanding of digital advertising and marketing strategy. They will be on top of shifting media trends, and how the web is impacting marketplaces and companies' business models. They will demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate effectively internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage integrated sales efforts of Radio One local radio sales staff and take the lead in the development of their regular sales efforts, including:
  • On-going education of local radio sales staff about digital media sales opportunities
  • Development of sales proposals for local sales staff, and review of local station's RFPs and make strategic recommendations to maximize revenue
  • Will set and own territory sales agenda including, prioritizing and organizing sales calls, with local Integrated Marketing Specialists, based on maximum potential return
  • Identify and create unique integrated sales properties and promotions, including contests and special advertising programs, focusing on relevant local and national events.
  • On-going coordination with VP of Digital Sales on account strategy and sales plans
  • Work closely with the Ad Sales team to maximize all revenue-generating programs by effectively and efficiently managing all advertising inventory and pricing
  • Work with local Integrated Marketing Specialists to gather, organize and submit all campaign details including creative assets to the Digital Client Services Team for campaign execution.
  • Own campaign delivery for all local digital campaign deliverables within markets of responsibility.
  • Effectively monitor and evaluate the local station's online inventory and their current pricing
  • Submit monthly, quarterly and annual inventory and sales forecasts (by assigned station/market)
  • Coordinate and approve the pricing of all locally sold online ad deals
  • Ensure all agency/client partners have an understanding of R One Digital's capabilities
  • Coach local sales staff on the most effective ways to use Radio One and R One Digital properties to develop opportunistic revenue-generating programs
  • Collaborate with the VP of Digital Sales, VP of Digital Operations, Online Editor, Director of Programming and Director of Marketing, to help:
  • Bringing relevant local opportunities and helping to develop effective research and innovative marketing tools by pinpointing online consumer trends necessary to create a category and advertiser-specific strategic solutions
  • Analyze competitive (local) online media marketplace
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Complies with Network and Urban One's mandatory training and adheres to related course deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct a team to include but not limited to:
    • Provide regular constructive feedback
    • Resolve issues/conflicts with diplomacy in a timely manner
    • Provide ongoing guidance and support for growth and development
    • Deploy effective coaching skills
    • Practical understanding of anti-harassment and discrimination laws
    • Ability to effectively administer performance reviews, and corrective action plans as appropriate.
    • Ensure team (s) attend mandatory department and/or mandatory company training (s) as required
  • Dedicated and driven work ethic, excellent writing skills, comfortable making presentations to all size groups (5-50), outstanding computer skills, some travel required
  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Legal right to work in the United States
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2-3 years of online advertising sales along with 2-3 years of other media sales experience
  • BS / BA degree required
