Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensivist to join our dynamic team in Lake Charles, LA. This position offers the opportunity to work in a well-established healthcare system, with direct access to a strong referral network of over 50 employed primary care providers and a robust community provider alignment. The successful candidate will provide critical care to pediatric patients in a 5-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a 10-bed general pediatric unit, performing life-saving procedures and ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.Manage and oversee treatments for a wide range of pediatric conditions requiring intensive care.Perform procedures such as moderate sedation, chest tubes, intubations, central lines, and arterial lines.
Call Rotation:
Participate in a call schedule rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for pediatric critical care patients.Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless and continuous care.
Collaboration:
Work closely with an excellent support staff to deliver comprehensive care to pediatric patients.Coordinate with primary care providers and specialists to develop treatment plans.Maintain strong communication with the referral base to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Facility Overview:
10-bed Pediatrics unit and a 5-bed PICU equipped with advanced medical technology.Collaborative environment with highly trained nurses and medical support staff.
Qualifications:
Board Certification/Board Eligibility
in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.Strong procedural skills, including intubations, chest tubes, central lines, and more.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle critical situations with confidence.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.Benefits:
