Summary/PurposeThe Employer Communications Specialist will help position Summit Academy OIC as the source for entry-level talent for employers. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Employer Communications Specialist will identify, recommend, implement, and coordinate marketing and communication strategies to drive employer engagement and hiring of Summit students and graduates.Appealing to the business need of employers, the Employer Communications Specialist will: (1) build brand visibility across key industries and employer networks; (2) develop compelling content across multiple communications channels to drive a call to action (hiring talent); (3) cultivate and nurture corporate communications relationships; and (4) monitor and evaluate success for continuous performance improvement. The Employer Communications Specialist will be part of the Marketing & Communications Department and will partner with staff across different departments at Summit.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesBuild brand visibility across targeted industries and employer networks

Work closely with the VP of Talent Solutions and Director of Marketing & Communications to identify, develop, and drive brand visibility that positions Summit as a source for entry-level talent for employers in the industries (and related industries) in which the Summit trains students.Conduct market research to identify opportunities to optimize and maximize Summit’s brand across employer-facing mediums.Craft messaging for all employer-facing content that is consistent with the overall Summit brand and intent of the organization.Continue to identify new and emerging opportunities to increase the visibility of Summit to future employer partners.

Develop communications content designed to engage the employer

Generate compelling content for Summit’s communications channels to drive employer engagement.Create and maintain an employer-facing communications calendar.Develop collateral for the Career Services department to use at events.Identify and collect student, alumni, and employer partner stories to show the value-add and success of hiring Summit graduates.Partner with the VP of Talent Solutions to develop targeted collateral for an executive-level employer audience.

Cultivate and nurture corporate communications and relationships

Develop supporting communications collateral for Summit Academy’s Occupational Advisory Council (OAC) employer participants.Cultivate relationships with employer media/PR/corporate relations teams.Maintain database of all employer partner content.Work collaboratively with the Development team in the preparation of donor/development communications.

Monitor and evaluate success for continuous improvement

Utilize data analytics and tools to assess the performance of employer communications initiatives.Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends.Monitor competitor marketing and communications strategies.Establish feedback mechanisms to gather insights from employers and key stakeholders.
