$7,500 eligible for external new hires to the UMMH system. Rules and restrictions apply - Talent Acquisition will discuss eligibility with candidates.Major Responsibilities:Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times.Participates in transfer of patients if needed, positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.Follows all department established and appropriate policies and procedures.Provides protection according to department policy to unaffected areas of the body from radiation exposure.Calculates and selects proper technical factors as appropriate to the procedure.Evaluates the images to assure that they contain proper identification and are of diagnostic quality.Operates imaging equipment according to specific diagnostic procedure.Monitors patients receiving contrast for adverse reactions.Assists physicians in the performance of specialized examinations.Ensures that images, examination requisitions and other related records are properly completed.Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition.Understands and practices ALARA principles of Radiation Protection.Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:RTR licensure in the Commonwealth Massachusetts.ARRT certification in Radiology is required within 12 months from date of hire.BLS certification.Some specialty modalities may require additional formal training and certification.Experience/Skills:Maintain all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation.Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:Work is considered medium.
