Deputy Chief Operating Officer

Fincantieri Marine Group (“FMG”) is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities include:
Supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in designing and implementing business operations and strategies across all shipyards and affiliates.
Bringing technical expertise to management discussions.
Evaluating the Company’s performance by analyzing and creating data and metrics.
Creating operational condition reports for FMG shipyards and affiliates.
Providing recommendations to adjust operational budgets, when necessary.
Suggesting methods to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity; reduce costs; increase profits; and improve control measures.
Working closely with the COO and senior management team to support and recommend plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems, and company policies designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies within the company.
Complying with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
Maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management and industry standards.
Assisting in the execution of cross-functional projects such as new offerings, new business, partnership opportunities, and improvements to internal operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in marine or naval engineering, or closely related field, or foreign equivalent. 5 years’ experience in supervision or management of shipbuilding functions or processes; travel to Europe to meet with parent and affiliate Company two to three times per year.
