DescriptionThis is a full-time position at the Mass General Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research Proteomics Laboratory (Haas Lab), which uses quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics to study the mechanisms underlying the dysregulation of cellular functions in cancer and to identify biomarkers for early cancer detection. This position is ideal for an exceptionally driven candidate interested in using their advanced expertise in artificial intelligence and mass spectrometry-based proteomics to push the boundaries of proteomics in cancer research and clinical applications of proteomics. This is a unique opportunity for scientific growth and interaction in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.We welcome and encourage our lab members' diversity in age, ethnicity, race, gender identity or expression, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, familial or marital status, mother language, national origin, political affiliation, religious beliefs, veteran status, and other characteristics that enrich our science and perspectives.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:To independently design and perform research on using artificial intelligence to develop new mass spectrometry methods for ultra-high throughput proteomics;To oversee a team of computational researchers in artificial intelligence-related projects;To utilize machine learning-based methods for the analysis of large proteomics datasets;To independently operate and maintain Orbitrap Fusion, Orbitrap Lumos Fusion, and Orbitrap Eclipse mass spectrometer including nano-capillary HPLC.Minimum Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience in artificial intelligence and 3 years of experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics is required. The person must be reliable, pay attention to details, meticulous in record-keeping, capable of working independently, possess superior verbal and written communication skills, and work well as part of a team.Qualifications:At minimum a master's degree.A strong background in coding.A strong background in artificial intelligence and neural networks.A strong background in mass spectrometry including experiences in hands-on usage of mass specs.Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics including sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis.A track record of publications or presentations demonstrating the expertise listed above.Strong work ethic, excellent organization skills, and meticulous attention to detail.Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.EEO Statement:Massachusetts General Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer.
