This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Land Development and Community Services department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification, for up to one hundred eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.

-The starting hourly pay for this position is $36.33 - $54.49. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.Work Schedule

- This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week), Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 6:00pm.THE ROLEReviews plans, specifications, and structural calculations for new construction, addition, and alteration or modification of commercial, industrial, residential, and auxiliary structures for compliance with the requirements of the adopted codes, municipal code, state, and federal regulations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for candidates who possess the ability to review plans. Have experience with architectural and/or electrical plan review.Customer service skills, ability to effectively communicate with the public, and knowledgeable with the building codes and regulations.With experience interacting with developers, engineers, architects, and contractors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in civil, structural or architectural engineering or a field related to the work; and,Two years of experience in Structural Engineering Design; or two years' experience as a Plans Examiner; or two years' experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations.Equivalency: Four years of experience as a Plans Examiner or four years' experience in Architectural Design with exposure to building codes and regulations or five years' experience in Engineering Structural Design may be substituted for the education and experience required above.Licenses and Certifications

International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner certification within one year of hire or promotion.Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver's license within required time frame.

- Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.Selection/Offers

Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
