Your CareerPalo Alto Networks is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Managing Senior Counsel, Privacy to join our legal team. As the Managing Senior Counsel, Privacy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer, partner, and other contracts accurately reflect and champion the assurances we make regarding our privacy practices. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to stakeholder teams across the enterprise, including the GTM/Commercial Legal team and InfoSec team, and developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures, conducting privacy impact assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy and data protection considerations into our products and services. This position reports directly to the company’s Data Protection Officer and head of privacy.Your ImpactDevelop and implement privacy policies and procedures in compliance with evolving global privacy laws and regulationsServe as key point of contact and subject matter expert for contract negotiations with customers, partners, and other stakeholdersProvide guidance to other stakeholder teams, with a solution-oriented focus, to develop negotiation positions that both protect the company and help propel our growthLead SME-led training sessions for adjacent teams, to foster a culture of privacy and data protectionCoordinate with external counsel on privacy-related legal matters, including any regulatory inquiries, enforcement actions, and litigationRepresent the company in privacy-related industry forums, associations, and conferences, to drive thought leadershipEnsure compliance with privacy obligations arising from contractual agreements with customers, partners, and vendorsDrive and support special projects as-needed, cross-functionally, representing the Privacy teamQualifications

Your ExperienceJuris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school or equivalent military experience requiredActive membership in at least one State BarMinimum of 10 years of legal experience, with a focus on privacy and data protection - In-house experience at an enterprise SaaS technology company is preferred but not requiredIn-depth knowledge of global privacy laws, regulations, and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, and Data Privacy FrameworkExpertise in negotiating DPAs, BAAs, and other privacy-oriented and cybersecurity-oriented agreements and addendaStrong understanding of cloud technology and privacy issues that commonly arise for B2B cloud companies, and the ability to anticipate customers’ needs re -contractual assurancesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to provide clear and concise legal advice and guidance to non-legal stakeholdersCIPP/E, CIPP/US, or other relevant privacy certifications are a plusAdditional Information

For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $176,800/yr to $286,000/yr.
