Generation and Energy Management Business Practice Leader

to join our

Power & Manufacturing - Advanced Energy Team

in any CHA office location.

YOUR IMPACTCHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substations, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.

The Generation and Energy Business Practice includes an Energy and Power team. The Energy team performs energy system evaluations, site masterplans, engineering design, Energy Performance Contracting Engineering Support and Construction Administration as well as commissioning services. The Power team provides engineering planning and design for CHP (Combined Heat and Power) combined-cycle, boilers, chillers, renewable energy, HVAC System upgrades and district energy systems. The team is comprised of Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers (energy, thermal, design), Electrical Engineers (high, normal, and low voltage), Commissioning Engineers and Program and Project Managers. Colleges and Universities, K-12 Schools, Utilities, Municipalities, State and Federal Governments are just a handful of clients this team provides service to.

As the Business Practice Leader for this growing team, this individual will be responsible for providing overall P&L management, strategic direction, inspiration for their workforce and client satisfaction through excellence in project delivery, ensuring the profitable growth of their business. This includes developing a Business Practice specific growth strategy and working with the Business Line Director and all Market Leaders to execute the strategy. The Business Practice Leader will also be responsible for staffing, project management, technical excellence, quality assurance, operational activities and collaboration with other Business Practices and Business Lines within the Sector and Company to ensure the efficient execution of projects, staff utilization and talent management.

This individual will be measured by performance relative to financial metrics such as, but not limited to, bookings, backlog, net service revenue, EBITDA, project multiplier, account receivables, WIP, utilization, and voluntary turnover.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

A minimum of 15 years of technical experience with increasing responsibility is required.

Professional technical licensure is required.

Strategic thinker to properly position the group for strong growth and financial performance.

Established leadership in the energy management and power field as demonstrated by publication of technical papers, presentations at industry events, or participation on associated industry committees (i.e., IDEA, AEE, ASHRAE).

Strong understanding and knowledge of the Business Practice as well as the adaptability for future services to be offered.

Demonstrated financial management skills and understanding of the P&L.

An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in a group setting.

A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader who can establish themselves as a credible strategic member of management within the company.

Technically astute and strategic in thinking to properly position the Business Practice for strong technical and financial performance, and client satisfaction.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ability to resolve conflict in a timely manner and lead initiatives/projects to completion with a sense of urgency.

Ability to inspire, motivate, build, and manage relationships within the team and across the company.

Trustworthy with the ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information or situations with discretion.

SALARY RANGE:$160,000 - $200,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
