The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy (School) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2025. This position is contingent upon state funding. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or DBA in accounting or business administration before August 2025. Relevant professional accounting experience and/or professional certification are desirable.The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule for Assistant Professors and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $5,404 to $11,994. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.The SDSU Fowler College of Business is among the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Its accomplished faculty and highly ranked academic programs provide an exceptional foundation for an institution with significant regional, national and international impact.The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy is AACSB Accounting accredited with approximately 800 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students. The School’s academic programs include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) – Accounting Major, Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA), and a combined 4 1 degree program (BMACC). Faculty support for research includes access to databases (e.g., WRDS), funding for approved projects, graduate student assistants, and a research budget for conference travel.Qualifications

Applicants should possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for, professional growth activity. This will include regular publication in quality, refereed journals and professional conference participation as well as demonstration of an innovative and active research agenda. Candidates must engage in teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in the areas of accounting information systems and/or financial reporting. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with members of the business and research community.We are seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to teaching and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups. Candidates must satisfy two or more of the eight Building on Inclusive Excellence (BIE) criteria.
