The Wallace H. Coulter Foundation Endowed Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at FIU invites applications for a Tenured/Tenure-Track Associate or Full Professor to begin as early as August 2024. We are seeking highly qualified individuals with expertise and a proven research track record in invasive electrophysiological techniques to study brain circuits in mammals, with preferences in primates.Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related science or engineering field. Qualified applicants are expected to have demonstrated academic research excellence as demonstrated by extensive publication records and external funding. Preference will be given to applicants with transferable resources. The new faculty hire will be expected to develop and sustain an inclusive high-quality collaborative research program and have a commitment to teaching excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.The department of Biomedical Engineering at FIU was established in 2003 with a $10M endowment from the Wallace Coulter Foundation.
