The Applied Systems Laboratory (ASL) Systems Integration Division (SID) supports systems integration, system design, and product development projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) manned and unmanned systems. SID research military systems specializing in avionics, electronic warfare, autonomous systems, intelligence systems, tactical communication/datalink systems; and live, virtual, constructive training solutions. The SID team's engineering roles include Systems Engineering, Algorithm Engineering, Datalink Engineering, and Embedded Software Engineering.Job Purpose
Lead multiple sponsored research projects. Assist Division Chief with operations including overhead budget management, hiring, AIS support and facilities management.Key Responsibilities
Manage Division space and facilities including moves, furniture, office assignments and equipment.Manage Division overhead budgets including RMA, Professional Development and Materials and Supplies.Ensure sponsored research projects are appropriately supported.Assist Division Chief with hiring.Additional Responsibilities
Assist with the development of division strategy and business development activities.Perform sponsored research.Capture and lead new sponsored projects.Assist implementation of division continuous improvement initiatives.Monitor and control of divisions' projects' financial, schedule, and technical criteria.Required Minimum Qualifications
Experience developing/designing complex, software-intensive, military unmanned air systems (UAS) using system engineering processes and methodologies.Experience managing engineering teams consisting of least 5 engineers.Experience managing multi-disciplined, full-lifecycle, engineering projects.Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance.Experience with the integration of military sensing systems.Experience with Modular Open System Approach (MOSA).Travel Requirements
10% - 25% travel.Education and Length of Experience
