A law firm is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Employment Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. This role provides expert legal guidance on various employment law matters, including litigation, transactional work, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex legal issues while fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues.Duties and Responsibilities:Handle litigation management, legal research, and legal drafting for class action and single plaintiff cases, including issues such as meal and rest period violations, wage and bonus disputes, off-the-clock work, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.Conduct employment due diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.Draft and negotiate employment, termination/severance, and related agreements.Provide advice on reductions in force and other employment-related matters.Offer counsel on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, employee policies/training, and leave practices.Defend class and collective actions, as well as PAGA claims.Support the transactional group on complex deals.Provide day-to-day advice and counsel to a wide range of clients.Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, colleagues, and third parties.Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently.Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.Meet deadlines and perform work duties as required.Foster positive work relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.Perform additional duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.Requirements:8 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, transactional work, and advisory services.Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, the California Labor Code, discrimination laws, and practice before state and federal courts and agencies.Experience in the defense of class and collective actions and PAGA claims.Ability to support complex deals and provide day-to-day advice and counsel to clients.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admitted to practice law in California.Skills:Strong analytical and writing skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Good business judgment and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Effective research and problem-solving skills.Conceptual thinking and the ability to influence others.Persuasive communication and management skills.Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan.Company infoDescriptionThe Associate VP, Enterprise Architecture translates business needs into technical systems solutions and architectural roadmaps.
