Are you passionate about shaping the future workforce and building strong industry connections? We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead our campus and regional industry relations activities, focusing on workforce development, hiring, job/internship creation, and business growth. Key Responsibilities: Drive strategic planning and implementation of Business-to-Business (B2B) engagement strategies to support talent acquisition, including recruitment lifecycles and internship design to generate revenue. Foster strong internal and external relationships to enhance our industry connections. Develop and execute effective communication, marketing, and outreach strategies. Lead and coordinate industry and career development programs, including internships, mentoring, and leadership initiatives. Develop, implement, and assess industry relations events and resources such as career fairs, webinars, and sponsorships. Communicate key metrics and findings to internal and external stakeholders, and keep campus partners updated on recruiting practices. Support and contribute to Career Services programming and outreach for students, faculty, student organizations, and employers. Develop and assess a communications strategy targeting external industry organizations and internal campus partners, utilizing various marketing channels. Track, analyze, and report industry and employment-related outcomes to support departmental and campus priorities. Position Information Full-time, permanent/probationary role offering comprehensive benefits. The position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego. Local travel is a routine part of this role, and weekend/evening work may be required as needed. Education and Experience Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related. Possession of this knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required. A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling. Key Qualifications Experience in workforce development, job placement, and business development. Strong ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external partnerships, driving collaboration across departments and with industry stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Proficient in leading marketing outreach and communication efforts to promote industry relations programs, attract employers, and engage with academic and business communities. Ability to meet annual goals and outcomes related to employer and student engagement, revenue generation, and employment outcomes. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,276 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
