The OrganizationInnovative Hematology Inc (IHI), formerly known as Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, is an independent non-profit entity that serves the entire State of Indiana as the only federally designated hemophilia treatment center (HTC). The IHI is the nation’s largest HTC and a leader in hemophilia care, education, and clinical research. The medical program serves a broad-based population with an extensive array of benign hematologic conditions. The adult medical program has a small hematologic malignancy and solid tumor oncology program.The IHI has dedicated staff that work within the pediatric and adult programs. The organization participates in national and international clinical research, including new infusion products and therapies, investigator-initiated studies, national and international collaborative studies, investigation of long-term outcomes, and the impact of associated conditions. The IHI engages in key partnerships on local, state, national, and international levels. Such partnerships include collaboration with local and state-based patient advocacy organizations; community partnerships within the Indiana-based Amish population; state-wide Sickle Cell newborn screening management; collaboration with national and international organizations such as The National Hemophilia Foundation and World Federation of Hemophilia; and an adult hematology oncology clinical training partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine, which also includes a clinical training program based in Eldoret, Kenya.This individual will join a team of 17 physicians - consisting of 9 pediatric hematologists, 7 adult hematologists, and 2 hospitalists - as well as 18 Advanced Practice Providers. The Center also has dedicated on-site multidisciplinary teams, which include physical therapy, psychosocial, nutrition, dental, career counseling, and genetic counseling to assure availability of the wide range of required services for high quality, comprehensive care. IHI's unique model of care includes nursing care coordination specific to pediatric and adult disease states, an integrated pharmacy, and pharmacist-staffed INR management. A team of 8 nursing and APP staff reside in locations across the State to provide local care and coordinate outreach clinics.The IHI has achieved formal designations as a Medical Home (AAAHC); Center of Excellence for Anti-Coagulation, HHT, and Sickle Cell; and URAC and ACHC pharmacy accreditations.Our Mission : Innovative Hematology and the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center are committed to providing the highest quality comprehensive services and holistic care to patients with bleeding, clotting, and other hematologic disorders, and to their families.Our Vision : A future where people with rare blood disorders flourish.Our Values:

Innovation, Teamwork, High Quality, CompassionThe OpportunityPurpose of the PositionThe Hematologist is responsible for the diagnosis and care of adult patients with hematologic disorders and follow-up of patients seen in the hospital. The physician will share responsibilities including limited call and clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient consultative service alongside a team of hospitalists.
