The role focuses on profitability, maintaining accurate financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels of internal controls, compliance with regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors' assets.What will you be doing?Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions.Notify management of any financial deviations from established policies and/or control weaknesses.Manage and communicate cash flow related issues, including preparation of cash-flow statements and timely deposits.Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording and investigating variances to budget.Assist management with capital planning and evaluate scope of work.Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses, permits, and operational taxes.Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets with the management team.Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.Audit all internal financial controls.Assist in recruiting and maintaining a qualified finance staff.Focus on training and development programs for finance associates.Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff.Ensure compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards.Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of IT systems.Prepare all financial reports in accordance with CHR requirements.Review and submit a Daily Revenue Report.Ensure timely deposit of cash and credit card transmissions.Review Labor Report for overtime and variances.Review departmental Checkbooks and advise on needed changes.Distribute and discuss weekly G/L report with department managers.Update GM on unfavorable financial issues.Ensure sufficient cash to meet obligations.Reconcile Balance Sheet with proper backup.Count the main vault and ensure all banks are counted.Review “Key Financial Controls” Checklist for compliance.Review actual numbers to forecast to improve accuracy.Participate in the monthly Credit Meeting.Complete and review the forecast with Department Heads.Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:A minimum of FOUR years' experience as a Hotel Director of Finance.Demonstrated knowledge and accuracy in P&L composition, forecast accuracy, budgeting, cash management, and overall financial management.Prior experience with Marriott systems is preferred.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.Self-starting personality with an even disposition.Strong computer and training skills.Knowledge of departmental operations and business law.Knowledge of insurance, employee benefits, and workers’ compensation claims.Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
