Senior Manager 1 - attractive salary on offer plus flexible super of either 17% or 11.5%About the RoleThe Senior Lawyer will provide strategic legal guidance and support to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (MDHS), encompassing its six schools and various departments. Reporting to the Director of Legal Services - MDHS, this key role involves delivering client-focused legal advice, fostering collaborative relationships, and spearheading initiatives that align with the University's strategic objectives. With a specialisation in complex commercialisation and research translation projects, the Senior Lawyer will focus on strengthening partnerships, facilitating university spinouts, and managing the commercialisation of intellectual property.Your responsibilities will include:Exercise independent judgment and autonomy in handling matters and transactions, ensuring alignment with the University’s risk thresholds.Lead and manage technically complex legal issues by providing high-quality, precise legal advice, effectively mitigating legal risks.Make informed decisions on resourcing and supporting projects, tailoring efforts to match the size, scale, complexity, and risk of each activity.Who we are looking forWe are seeking a strategic and passionate legal professional with deep expertise in intellectual property, corporate transactions, and research commercialisation. The ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and excel in client relationship management.
