Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research human resources business requirements, recommend and implement solutions to meet needs within the HRMS environment. Troubleshoot end-user problems and issues and communicate resulting solutions.Lead assigned HRMS projects, and resolve system issues in close collaboration with the human resources team and IT technical staff.Maintain appropriate documentation in support of HRMS application environments, functional requirements supporting application change, and functional design.Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS and work collaboratively to support and improve HRMS functionality across the College.Notify and make recommendations for end-user training and procedural changes to the other module managers when system-wide problems are detected.Provide training to the human resources staff and others on HRMS features.Prepare and analyze report data crucial to the administration of HR, benefits, payroll, employment, compensation, etc. Develop standard reports for use by others.Develop test plans for upgrades and research new features of the HRMS.Develop SOPs and recommend better HR business processes.Provide technical and professional assistance related to HR functional tasks including: conducting recruitment processes; responding to and compiling information for benefit and salary surveys; compensation-related projects; policy and procedure development, etc.Conducts HR-related surveys as needed and gathers and uploads employee data for state and federal reporting, including participation in national or state surveys such as the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources and the Mountain States Association of Community Colleges.Lead transfer of information between the applicant tracking system and Banner.May assist in maintaining human resources-related information on the College's website and intranet.Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities•

Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills, knowledge of database structures and HR business procedures.Ability to manage technology projects from start to finish working independently and as a team member as necessary.Demonstrated system and technical thinking. Ability to learn and apply new technical skills that support improved processes.Demonstrated ability to complete assignments in a systematic and timely way and the ability to safeguard highly confidential information.Knowledge of human resources principles, practices and standards.Ability to meet recurring deadlines.Excellent customer service skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.Must be a team player, self-starter, motivated, able to work cross functionally and able to multi-task.Attention to detail and ability to problem solve is essential.Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources administration as applicable to College setting.Skilled in development and documentation of operating and administrative procedures.Must possess strong initiative and positive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, CIS, Database Management or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional level experience with human resources information systems; and/or any combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities as determined by the Vice President of Human Resources.

PreferredExperience with HRIS systems and reporting tools, specifically Banner by Ellucian; NeoGov; Argos; and three to five years of Excel experience as well as some knowledge in Access or other data base software.
