Overview

Cambridge has recruited talented interns from across the country to join us during the summer for a 10-12 week internship. Each year, over 35 interns join us for a paid summer internship experience at our home offices in Fairfield, Iowa and Phoenix, Arizona. The Next Step internship program gives students practical insight into the financial services industry and allows students to gain practical knowledge in their field. Students are partnered with a professional mentor, supervisor, and executive leader to gain networking opportunities and learn from industry professionals. At the conclusion of the internship, each intern will have the opportunity to present on their experience and a specific project of their choice.

Essential Duties

The Business Intelligence and Insights (BI&I) Product team provides strategic governance of Cambridge's enterprise data. The team supports Cambridge by working with the business to optimize an Enterprise Data Model and the BI&I team supports other product teams with data development and design guidance.

We have three Data Scientist Internships available in the Fairfield, IA office.

As the Data Scientist Intern, you will:Create a statistical model by determining the correlation between two types of data or eventsDetermine specific use case around what the key drivers are for a financial professional based on their demographic data and with the types of transactions they are makingFollow the Data Science Process by researching and developing steps, collecting, and preparing any additional data neededWork on a project that requires determining data sources of truth, using Tableau, and creating reports and dashboards to provide visibility into insights drawn from the raw data.Prepare a statistical model by experimenting with a variety of different types of models; evaluate and analyze the results; present on the findingsExpand skillset to include data science models, data cleansing, exposing results using Tableau, and giving presentationsInteract with all business departments while performing data scienceEducation & Experience

Students studying computer science, data science, data architecture, data analytics, mathematics, or statistics will likely be the most successful in this role.

Compensation: $19-$23 per hour.

This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate's qualifications, the Company's operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The actual pay offered to a specific candidate may vary above or below the stated range.
