About this role
A Building Automation Project Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects and resources and serving as a subject matter expert on commissioning and consulting on projects control installations.
In this position you will be leading projects that ensure reliable controls solutions, promote safety, meet industry standards, and ensure that people live and work in facilities that operate as they are intended. You will work with Project Managers, Field installation team, electrical subcontractors, other engineers, and management to successfully install and commission innovative building automation solutions, tailored to meet the needs of the building and customer.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for self-managing, scheduling, and budgeting assigned project work. Define, oversee, and commission the implementation of technical complex building automation systems, with specific focus on large networks, third party integration and complex systems. As needed, will serve as a technical expert in system troubleshooting and or system definition, remotely and on job site. Provide detailed information on the design and operation to field installation team Review submitted materials including DDC modules, field sensing, and control devices and associated controls software algorithms to meet specifications and standards. Create software and graphics solutions for specific project work, limited as appropriate to needs of the business. Provide troubleshooting and technical support to the operations install team. Executing and managing commissioning tasks within budget. Support the operations manager and field supervisor in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and HVAC and Smart Building automation. Liaison between field installation team and engineering team focused on third party integrations. Trouble shoot communications and control issues and ensure a trouble-free customer network at the completion of project installations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have good understanding of systems software to read, test and make changes to logic as needed. Able to create, download, and troubleshoot basic HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software. Communicates issues with Project Manager on a timely basis. Good working knowledge with all WebCTRL software functions and utilities. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting. Must be well organized with good time management skills. This position requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment. Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Able to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints. Basic experience with Microsoft software products to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required. Has a good working knowledge of Automated Logic hardware and software. Possesses an understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences. Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain their laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARC Net communications. Background in mechanical and HVAC system operation and design. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of experience in the HVAC controls industry 1+ years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite Clean and valid driver's license Ability to travel in excess of 25% of typical workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel as well as participate in rotating on call schedule. Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related subject Commissioning experience and an understanding of the installation and operation of Building Controls and ability to understand/navigate third party control systems and integrations. Pay Range: $92,856 - $130,206 Annually
