With the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CT) or a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (RI), the social worker will perform professional social work services to patients, families, and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in the Yale New Haven Health System. Supervision means face-to-face case review and consultation between one supervisor and one supervisee until the supervisee obtains Licensed Clinical Social Worker in accordance with the State of Connecticut regulations/licensure for Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in accordance with the State of Rhode Island regulations.

QualificationsEDUCATIONMaster's Degree from an accredited School of Social Work.EXPERIENCEMinimum of one field placement from an accredited School of Social Work.LICENSURELicensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) from the State of Connecticut, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an 'endorsement' and meet the State of Connecticut or Rhode Island license requirements.SPECIAL SKILLSThe Social Worker will possess the following special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families.PHYSICAL DEMANDThe Social Worker-LMSW/GF position is co-terminus with grant funding.

Additional InformationLMSW required. Must be a 2024 Sacred Heart School of Social Work graduate.Position is coterminous with funding 7/1/2024-6/30/2025.The Social Work Fellow will participate in the following trainings to provide a social history and forensic interview:Participate case coordination from referral to scheduling of forensic evaluationGain knowledge of educating families on the impact of childhood abuse, the forensic interview and support servicesAccess and refer to victim advocates, mental health providers and other services in the communityComplete "Finding Words" training that teaches the Child First ProtocolHave an understanding of the interview being digitally recordedTrained to conduct no less than 50 interviews under the supervision of an experienced interviewerParticipate in various Multidisciplinary Team Meetings and present cases
