James F. Butler & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking a paralegal to join the Westchester, NY office. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting Attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, pleadings and pre-trial motions in first and third party insurance defense/bodily injury cases. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and prioritize workload in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.This is a hybrid position
working Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. The selected candidate should plan to spend time working both in the Westchester office and from home (if desired) as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.Based in Jericho, NY, with our satellite office in Westchester (Harrison), NY, we enjoy an active and busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.Office location : 500 Mamaroneck Avenue, Harrison, NY 10528Qualifications
1-7 years of paralegal experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury environmentParalegal degree, certificate, and/or paralegal educationAbility to draft pleadings, routine motions, discovery, and legal memorandaFamiliarity with Court Rules and ProceduresExperience with discovery processTrial preparation experienceUnderstanding of medical terminology and recordsUnderstanding of internet information resources and software applications with the ability to develop greater automation expertisePotential salary range: $66,117.19-$80,000Potential yearly incentive pay up to 10% of the base salary (results may vary year to year)Competitive Benefits Including :401k PlanHealth InsuranceDental/Vision plansLife InsurancePaid Time OffAnnual Merit IncreasesTuition ReimbursementHealth InitiativesApplicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
