Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What we do:

We are seeking a Test Pilot to be part of the Flight Test team. You will be a part of a professional, high-performing team of test pilots, flight test engineers, flight test mechanics, and support staff whose goal is to supply accurate, repeatable, and cost-effective data to the engineering groups we support. The primary objective of this role is to pilot Supernal air vehicles. Additional objectives include normal Test Pilot duties relating to testing and certification and developing user interfaces, operating procedures, and training. This role will also support the development, certification, and demonstration of eVTOL test and evaluation.

What you can do:

Complete experimental flight tests in an eVTOL aircraftCoordinate with flight test engineers to develop test plans, test cards, and test procedures given requirements from the engineering teamDevelop and maintain flight manuals, operations, checklists, and proceduresLead and/or participate in the safety of flight and flight readiness review boardsComplete all required documentation in accordance with established company and FAA proceduresMaintain flying currency and proficiency in multiple different aircraft typesUp to 50% of domestic and international travelOther duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field required; Master’s degree in flight test engineering or related field preferredMinimum ten (10) years of experience in engineeringMinimum of five (5) years of experience as an Experimental Test Pilot (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School or equivalent level of experience as a Test PilotFAA Class II MedicalCommercial pilot license1000+ PIC total VTOL aircraft flight hoursExperience with Risk Management, including Hazard Identification and preparing Risk AssessmentsExperience with Uninhabited Aerial System (UAS) certification and testingFamiliarity with standard flight test processes and proceduresKnowledge of the FAA civil certification processExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive delivery of communication and follow upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailMust have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraintsProficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite

Experience with flight testing Uninhabited Aerial Systems (UAS) preferredExperience working with the FAA and familiarization with aircraft, helicopter, or powered lift FAA certification programs preferredExperience flight testing rotorcraft aircraft preferredExperience with flight testing eVTOL aircraft preferredExperience flying tilt-rotor aircraft preferredExperience operating light transport helicopters and/or aircraft preferredExperience with formation flying with UAS preferredFormation flying, flight training, and media demos preferredExperience developing/optimizing simulators/ground control station and training equipment preferredExperience in developing digital flight control systems preferredExperience flight testing rapid prototype aircraft and components preferredExperience working in fast-paced small teams preferredFamiliarity with EDW airspace preferred #FJ

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.The pay range for this position is:$247,900—$316,600 USD
