Join our team and help make a difference.Summary:The IT Data Governance Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure the proper management of the company's data lifecycle. This role involves collaboration with IT, business stakeholders, and Data Stewards to enhance data quality, protection, compliance, and value. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Data Governance frameworks, Data Privacy regulations, and industry best practices.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework and strategy in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap, including strategic priorities for the development of information-based capabilities.Create framework to ensure implementation of data policies, standards, practices, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity.Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure data governance and management practices are followed and integrated into data systems and processes.Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for data stewardship activities.Manage the process and capabilities for maintenance of data models, data catalog, and metadata management to facilitate data quality, consistency, and usability.Work with IT security to support data-related risk assessments and compliance activities, including adherence to data privacy laws such as CCPA.Work with the legal department to establish and maintain data usage guidelines, data sharing agreements, and data-related policies.Drive organizational change management to embed data governance culture within the company.Monitor and report on data governance metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of data management activities.Facilitate data governance committees and working groups to ensure cross-functional alignment and decision-making.Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in data governance and management technologies.

Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data governance or data management role, preferably within the insurance industry.Strong knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets.Experience with data privacy and protection laws, compliance, and risk management is preferred.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders across the organization.Familiarity with data governance and management tools and platforms.Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or similar are a plus.

Salary range: $116,000 - $167,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint.
