MORE ABOUT THIS JOBWe are looking for Cloud Platform Engineers in the Alloy Engineering business unit within our Core Engineering division, to work at the intersection of data platforms, infrastructure and cloud platforms.As a member of the team, Cloud Platform Engineers will design, build, and operate the firm's Legend data platform in the AWS and GCP clouds. See https://legend.finos.org/.RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONSWhy join the team?We write code - Backend services, UIs, Infrastructure middleware, libraries - mostly in Java.We enhance the Legend platform by integrating data models with various data sources and data platforms. E.g RDMS/NoSQL databases, AWS Athena/Redshift etc.We are uplifting the Legend platform to take advantage of new cloud capabilities - E.g AWS S3 + Object Lambdas for Legend model to model transformations.We are delivering our data platform to the AWS/GCP clouds for internal cloud customers.We are actively open sourcing our code and big chunks of our software development will be on GitHub.RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEA Bachelors degree or higher in a computational field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or in a related discipline)3-5+ years of experience working with public cloud providers. This includes:Hands on experience with AWS/GCPOne/more container platforms : Docker/ECS/EKS/GKEOne/more infrastructure automating toolkits : Terraform/CDK/K8s Config Sync/Config ConnectorNetworking concepts - VPC, Load BalancersAuthentication/Authorization - IAM, Identity Federation etc.Experience in Cloud Data Services - AWS S3/Aurora/Redshift/Athena, GCP GCS/BigQuery, SnowflakeCloud Security conceptsDesigning resilient systems for use in the cloudCloud monitoring practices/technologies - AWS Cloud Watch etc.Candidates will be expected to both design and implement the Legend platform on the public clouds. Responsibilities also include participating in architecture and design/risk reviewsProficiency in one/more programming languages (Java is preferred)
Candidates should be able to read/write/build/deploy and debug code
