SMT, Inc., a Raleigh based sheet metal fabricator and electrical assembler, is opening a second location in Washington, NC to expand our assembly operations. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Associate to join our team to help us get this site up and running.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience setting up a warehouse and installing racks for inventory storage, as well as experience in receiving, shipping and inventory control. We offer competitive pay and benefits as well as opportunities for advancement.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the efficient organization, storage, and distribution of products and materials within the warehouse. This includes setting up racks, managing inventory, receiving and shipping goods, and performing general material handling tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Rack Setup and Organization:

Configure rack storage to optimize storage of inventory.Assemble and install storage racks and shelving units to optimize warehouse space or arrange for the installation of racks.Ensure racks are stable and properly configured to store various types of products safely.Rearrange and organize racks as needed to accommodate incoming shipments and maximize storage efficiency.Inventory Management:

Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.Use inventory management software to track and update stock levels accurately.Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by labeling and categorizing products correct Receiving and Shipping:Receive incoming shipments, check for accuracy, and inspect goods for damage or defects.Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements.Ensure all shipping documents are complete and accurate.Material Handling:

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products.Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.Handle materials with care to avoid damage and ensure safe working conditions.General Warehouse Duties:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.Collaborate with other warehouse staff to improve processes and resolve issues.Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification is a plus).Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.Work Environment:

This position requires working in a warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures.Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment.Benefits:
