Job Description
Position Overview : This is the first level of the Technical Specialist classification. Provide technical expertise in applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to a technical field of specialization (i.e., biology, GIS, environmental science, communications, etc) with close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their area of expertise, and the ability to work with greater independence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under close supervision, in the area of expertise will providetechnical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problemseffective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activitiescomplete and accurate technical documents such as summary reports, correspondence, specifications, and procedurescontinuous improvement of job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills and performanceeffective oral and written communication skillsmaintain accurate records and filessupport of the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.Requirements
Associate's Degree in area of expertise or 2 years of relevant technical experienceUnderstanding of fundamental concepts in area of expertiseProven Computer skills appropriate for area of expertiseTime management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work activities to meet goals and deadlinesAbility to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.Sound research and communication skills.Other Skills/Abilities
Self-MotivatedWork independentlyTeam-OrientedCustomer OrientedAble to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in area of expertiseExperience in the utility industry.
