Competitive base salary: $75,000 to $95,000 D.O.ECompany Paid Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life & VisionSupplemental Life Insurance Plan401 (K) with Company Match up to 4%Paid VacationPaid Sick DaysPaid HolidaysPurpose of Position :The Mechanical Designer works with the design team to develop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations. They coordinate with the appropriate personnel to ensure the coordination of all aspects within the design process, providing technical support and troubleshooting solutions. They perform these duties in compliance with client, company, and industry standards.
Reporting Structure :
The Mechanical Designer reports directly to the Project Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the design team lead and fellow designers in completing construction documentationConduct construction field reviews and prepare review reportsCollaborate with internal and external parties to produce coordinated design solutionsDevelop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations in compliance with client standards, company standards, and appliable local code and regulationsConduct load calculations and specify mechanical equipmentProvide technical support to OPM construction team and its sub-trades for troubleshooting and time/cost-efficient installation processAttend internal and external design and construction progress meetingsProvide technical support to internal BIM clash detection team in resolving conflicts between different building services systems, the building structure and the building architecture.Review equipment shop drawings and carry out construction administrative tasksQualifications and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or a related fieldEngineer-In-Training registration if applicable2-4 years of directly related experienceFluent in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, Procore, and Trace 700Excellent knowledge of MS Office 365 software toolsWork experience in HVAC, Plumbing or Sheetmetal trades is considered an assetSkills and Abilities:
Knowledge of American building services codes and standards is considered an assetSome knowledge of Canadian building services codes and standardsAbility to interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimum supervisionStrong organizational and multi-tasking skills to meet sensitive timelinesCollaborative teamwork skills to achieve organizational goalsSelf-motivated and initiative taker on a wide variety of tasksConfident decision-making skills and high ethical standardsProven English verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalismThis is an in-office position :100-9834 Research Drive, Irvine CA
